Blood Donor Day : 14th June
Consistent with an estimate, at every three seconds one requires to give some blood. In Step with the Central Drug Standard Control Organization, in India, about 13.5 crore units of blood are required per annum, while only 11 crore units of blood are available. This shows that there's plenty lot of scarcity of blood in India, that's why there's an excellent need of blood donors in India.
Blood Donor Day is celebrated on 14 June, every year. It had been started in year 2004 by World Health Organisation (WHO). It's celebrated to make Blood Donors aware and to promote blood donation. This year's theme is “Save Blood Save Life”. This means donate blood and give new life to others. Blood donation is a Great Donation (Rakt Daan Maha Daan). Gradually, people are understanding its importance. Blood donation by a young and healthy person is not harmful. Blood donation is the hope of new life for those who are blood deficient. So to save one's life, donate blood
